2015.6 - Run, flap, catch air

The secret is practice, practice, practice.

It takes 7-8 weeks of practice before a young crane colt can fly. From the very start, little Arrow waved her wings as she walked about. By 5 weeks of age, colts are running 10-15 yards as they flap their wings and jump, trying to catch air.

Roy and Millie are coaches - prompting, encouraging, and rewarding the colt's efforts, with food, with purrs, and with dances.

Both Arrow '15 and Pi '13 are featured in the video below.
