4 - Roy exuberantly dances across the ice-covered pond on the second day of incubation.

Millie and Roy began incubation of Millie's eggs on May 18. They alternate shifts, which range from 2-8 hours.

Millie passes her off-duty time by bathing and feeding. Roy sometimes visits other parts of the valley when he is not incubating.

On May 20, Millie relieved Roy from incubation duties and then he ran and danced across the snow-covered ice of the pond.
